When sound is transmitted indoors when it encounters walls, ceilings or the ground, it will produce varying degrees of absorption and reflection. When the reflections overlap with the direct sound, the sound will become muddy and lose its sense of direction. At the same time, if the acoustic panels of the multi-function hall are used improperly, it will also cause defects or excessive sound in various frequency bands. In particular, the use of the same acoustic materials in a large area will cause a deviation in the frequency of sound transmission in certain frequency bands.

1. The design of reverberation time

The stage space of the protruding stage and the audience hall are combined into the same reverberation time and designed according to the same space; the space inside the stage acoustic reflector is a part of the audience hall, and the mixed response of the audience hall with stage reflector is designed separately.

According to national standards, the reverberation time of the stage is similar to the reverberation time of the auditorium. We can install fabric acoustic panels on the wall facing the audience, and wooden grooved acoustic panels on the walls on both sides of the stage.

2. Acoustic treatment of walls and ceilings

The walls and roof of the auditorium should be treated with sound insulation and shock absorption. The suspended ceiling near the stage is made of double-layer 12-thick Att boards, or other equivalent acoustic reflective materials. The ceiling shape is a progressive wave shape, and the remaining part of the ceiling is made of perforated sound-absorbing materials and glass wool.

Install MLS diffusers on both sides of the wall close to the entrance of the stage. In order to avoid acoustic defects such as echo, a strip-shaped perforated sound-absorbing structure is arranged on all the back walls. Due to the need to control the reverberation time of the entire audience hall, a certain amount of acoustic materials is needed, while the area of the back wall is insufficient, so we need to install a perforated sound-absorbing structure at the back of the side wall.

3. Stage, floor and seats

The stage floor adopts double-layer wooden floor. The stage and the audience hall are connected through the stage opening to form a coupling space. The floor of the whole hall is made of reflective wooden floor.

The surface layer of the seat is made of woven fabric with good sound permeability, the upper part and both sides of the backrest are made of non-perforated reflective material, and the lower surface layer of the seat is made of perforated material.

In addition to the above suggestions, the ceiling, wall and floor decoration materials of the auditorium should not be lower than Class A1 fire protection. When Class B1 decoration materials are used, corresponding fire-fighting facilities should be provided.
